Sophia Thorne is an author, editor, poet, and publisher. She holds a BA in English Literature, received the Deans Award for Excellence in English Literature Medal, has 17 short fiction and poetry publications in various literary journals both online and in print, and is the founding Editor-in-Chief of the literary magazine Coffin Bell: a journal of dark literature. During its eight years of operation, Coffin Bell published poetry, short stories, flash fiction, essays, creative nonfiction, and art that explored Gothic / dark themes. From January 2019 to December 2024, Coffin Bell published four quarterly issues and gained a worldwide readership in 170 countries, and published two print anthologies: Coffin Bell: ONE and Coffin Bell TWO. She is the author of the Distance Duet, the Valentine Duet, and the standalone Dark Zeus. When she isn’t writing, she sings and plays guitar, makes scented soy candles, gardens, reads voraciously, and tenderly nurtures her book collecting hobby. She lives in Tennessee with her orange kitty, Mabon.
